200 yard Offhand Shoots

The Old Colony Sportsmen's Association in Pembroke, MA hosts a series of 200 yard Rifle Offhand Shoots starting in mid-November from a heated shooting house. The last shoot of the season will be March 29, 2005. The course of fire allows for unlimited sighting shots and 20 shots for record on the NRA 200 yard High Power Rifle target in 30 minutes. $2 per entry, no re-entries. Shooting starts at 10:00 am with breakfast and lunch available until 2:00 pm.

There are different classes including:

  • Iron - any rifle with iron sights, no restrictions on shooting jacket
  • Scope - any rifle with an optical sight, no restrictions on shooting jacket
  • Howes - NRA Match Rifle with flat butt, no palm rest, 2 lbs. trigger pull
  • Winsor - single shot rifle, any caliber, firing plain base cast lead bullets, no shooting coats
  • 40+ - any rifle .40 caliber or above, no restrictions as to sights or shooting jacket
  • .22 Rim Fire - any .22 rim fire rifle with no restrictions as to sights or shooting jacket
